Of Time and the City (2008)
About
Terence Davies uses archive imagery, music, poetry and personal narration to reflect on Liverpool and its transformation.
Davies revisits the city of his childhood through a collage of crowded streets, changing neighbourhoods, religious ceremonies and everyday working-class life. His reflections on family, faith, sexuality and popular culture move between affection, anger, humour and grief as he considers the distance between the Liverpool he knew and the city it became.
FACT presents this documentary on 35 mm in Screen 2. One audience member will be invited into the projection room to start the film and see the reels and specialist equipment. Doors open at 19:00 for a 19:30 screening without adverts or trailers. FACT lists a 77-minute running time. Film certificate: 12A.
