Heavens Above! What's that Star?

A guided stargazing evening on Portholme Meadow led by Dr Fred Stephenson, with a telescope talk fallback if skies are cloudy.

This evening event offers an introduction to stargazing from Portholme Meadow, weather permitting, led by Dr Fred Stephenson who will bring a telescope; participants are encouraged to bring binoculars or their own telescope. If skies are cloudy, Stephenson will instead give a talk titled 'From Thomas Wright to the James Webb Space Telescope' on the discovery of the galaxy, other galaxies and the history of the universe. In inclement weather the talk moves to St Mary's Church Hall next to Huntingdon Bus Station, with details sent to ticket holders on the day. The event lasts 90 minutes and attendees should wear waterproofs and stout shoes for walking on the meadow in the dark.
