Behind the Secret Door: Far & Wide

A library session follows the Bridgeman family’s travels through Staffordshire and Shropshire and farther afield, using books that record honeymoons, Grand Tours, gap years and journeys abroad.

Volunteers share books acquired by the Bridgeman family across generations. Visitors can handle the volumes and explore the places and journeys they reveal. Morning and afternoon sessions are offered in the House Library; no prior knowledge is required. Use the Visitor Entrance at TF11 8LE and meet outside the Granary building ten minutes before the session; the guide will walk the group to the House.
