About
The Northern Chamber Orchestra performs Telemann, Caroline Shaw, Stravinsky and Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in a viola-led Baroque programme.
This Northern Chamber Orchestra concert places the viola in the spotlight, with Alex Mitchell as soloist in Telemann's viola concerto under director Sarah Brandwood-Spencer. The programme pairs Caroline Shaw's Plan & Elevation with Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks Concerto, both inspired by the same historic estate, alongside Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 with its celebrated harpsichord cadenza. The concert lasts two hours including a 20-minute interval.
