About
A large, mirrored stainless steel scale model of the Moon, created by artist Luke Jerram, is on display at the Royal Observatory.
The installation, called Mirror Moon, is a 2m diameter scale model made from mirrored stainless steel. It uses highly accurate NASA topographical data to allow visitors to touch craters, valleys, mountains, and lava fields on the lunar surface. The exhibit celebrates 350 years of astronomical study from the Royal Observatory's founding in 1675.
