Memory Keepers by Yan Wang Preston

A free exhibition of new photographic work by Yan Wang Preston exploring her relationship with a 300-year-old sweet chestnut tree at RHS Garden Bridgewater.

Yan Wang Preston, the first artist in residence at RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford, presents a new body of work centred on the garden's oldest tree, an ancient sweet chestnut. The exhibition traces the relationship that developed between artist and tree during her residency, combining images with 300 stories written by the public in response to the tree's 300-year lifespan. It also includes work made with socially engaged photographer Liz Lock and Salford Youth Service, and forms part of the OFFSHOOT collaboration between the University of Salford Art Collection, RHS Garden Bridgewater and Open Eye Gallery.
