RSGS: Bruce Gittings: Chile: A Land of Surprises
About
A Royal Scottish Geographical Society talk by Bruce Gittings exploring Chile's geography, landscapes and culture.
Bruce Gittings, a keen observer of landscape and people, gives an illustrated talk about Chile, a country isolated by natural barriers and remarkable for its geographical and biological diversity, from the world's driest desert to its highest volcanoes. The talk blends cultural observations, geographical description and remarkable landscapes, arguing that Chile's culture owes as much to Britain as to Spain and that its recent history remains shaped by the descendant of a French immigrant. The event is part of the RSGS programme at Easterbrook Hall, with tickets also available on the door.
