RSGS Inspiring People Talk: Kevin Heath
About
Shipwreck hunter Kevin Heath gives an RSGS talk on the S.S. Active and S.S. Scotia and their roles in Scotland's polar exploration history.
Orkney-based shipwreck hunter Kevin Heath presents an RSGS Inspiring People talk about two vessels central to Scotland's polar legacy. He covers the S.S. Active's 1893 Antarctic voyage under Captain Robertson, which helped lay the foundations of Scottish exploration in the South, and the S.S. Scotia, built for William Speirs Bruce's 1902–04 Scottish National Antarctic Expedition. Drawing on personal insights, the talk reveals stories history left behind and the shipwrecks that still echo those lost journeys. The talk runs from 7:30pm to 9pm.
