The Big Picture

A display of the largest paintings in Bradford's collection, spanning two centuries, shown together at Cartwright Hall.

The Big Picture gathers some of the largest paintings in Bradford's collection, spanning more than two centuries of art, including works by L.S. Lowry, August Müller and Salima Hashmi's monumental Zone of Dreams. Many of the works have not been displayed together for over a decade. Ranging from portraits and landscapes to scenes of everyday life, the paintings reflect changing ideas about art, society and the world, and are shown side by side to highlight their scale and ambition.
