About
Edinburgh Napier students stage Jessica Swale's Blue Stockings, a play about Girton College women fighting for the right to graduate in 1896.
Jessica Swale's debut play is set in 1896 at Girton College, Cambridge, the first British college to admit women. It follows Tess Moffat and her fellow first-years through one tumultuous academic year as they study ferociously and match their male peers grade for grade, yet are denied degrees. The production is performed by 4th year BA (Hons) Acting and English students and runs over four evenings, with adult themes.
