Simon Yates: My Mountain Life

Mountaineer Simon Yates gives an illustrated talk recounting his climbing life, from the 1985 Siula Grande rescue to modern lightweight alpinism worldwide.

Simon Yates, the climber best known for the 1985 Siula Grande episode recounted in Touching The Void, presents an evening talk about his life in the mountains. He traces his journey from that Peruvian epic to more than 35 years of exploratory climbing and guiding across ranges from the Arctic to Central Asia. The talk is illustrated with images and film from his expeditions and delivered with what the organisers describe as wit and dry humour. It is a seated event suitable for all ages.
