About
A guided walking tour of Manchester's Gay Village exploring the city's LGBT+ history, led by queer historian Joshua Val Martin.
This guided tour explores Manchester's Gay Village and Canal Street through monuments, memorials, street art and pubs, covering topics from Victorian drag balls and 19th-century trans lives to HIV activism and local campaigners. Led by queer historian Joshua Val Martin of Free Manchester Walking Tours, it lasts around 1.5–2 hours and ends with tailored recommendations for queer venues and community spaces. The tour welcomes LGBTQ+ visitors and locals, allies and anyone curious about Manchester's queer history.
