Elevate Festival – Scratch Night in collaboration with Exeter Phoenix
About
A scratch night of work-in-progress performances by South-West theatre-makers, comedians and clowns, part of Elevate Festival.
This scratch night presents four fresh work-in-progress pieces from local artists: Tin Solider by Theatre Workhouse, a Dartmoor-set drama about a fugitive soldier and a family's libel battle; Josser by Tweedy Clown, a slapstick physical comedy about running away to join the circus; Hurly Burly by Diabolical Intervention, a folklore-inspired show set on a Devon reclamation yard; and One for Sorrow by Ruby De Ville Morel, a non-verbal clown romance blending dance, slapstick and puppetry. Audiences watch the first live run-throughs of experimental new work. The evening runs 120 minutes including an interval and forms part of Elevate Festival, a week-long celebration of new work from South-West artists.
