Castanets Course

A five-week Sunday morning course teaching castanets technique and playing Sevillanas, suitable for beginners.

This five-week course teaches the expressive sound of castanets, covering how to hold and play them, produce clear sounds and build rhythmic patterns with both hands. Participants learn toques to accompany Sevillanas, alongside arm movements and simple movement sequences connecting sound with the body. Taught by Maika Jimenez Blanco, sessions run Sundays 10:00–11:00 from 15 November to 13 December 2026 and welcome beginners as well as those strengthening their foundations. Participants should bring their own castanets.
