Composers & Poets Forum Showcase and Exhibition: A Leeds Songbook

A showcase performance of new Leeds-themed songs by local poets and composers, performed by Leeds Song Young Artists, alongside a related exhibition.

Part of the Leeds Song Festival, this showcase presents new works from Opera North's ongoing Leeds Songbook project, in which local poets write poems about the people of Leeds and visiting composers set them to music. The songs are performed by the Leeds Song Young Artists, and in 2027 the project also includes visual artworks reflecting the songs' themes, shown in an accompanying exhibition. The event follows months of collaboration and Festival workshops and lasts 1 hour 30 minutes.
