Young Artist Study event with Natasha Loges
About
Professor Natasha Loges leads Opera North's Young Artists in a lecture recital exploring the songs of singer-composer Pauline Viardot.
Part of the Leeds Song Festival, this study event sees Professor Natasha Loges lead Opera North's Young Artists through a lecture recital on the songs of singer-composer Pauline Viardot, who composed around 200 songs across a sixty-year international career. Performances by the Young Artist duos illustrate a programme tracing Viardot's friendships with figures from the Schumanns to Tchaikovsky, Fauré and Bizet. The event coincides with the publication of Loges's new biography of Viardot, the first study to place her music at the heart of her life.
