Aestus String Quartet

The Aestus String Quartet performs works by Jonathan Dove, Beethoven and Caroline Shaw at Blackburn Museum.

The Aestus String Quartet opens the new Music in the Heart of Blackburn series with a programme of string quartet music at Blackburn Museum. The concert features Jonathan Dove's Out of Time (2001), an early quartet by Beethoven, and Caroline Shaw's Valencia (2012), a piece inspired by the structure of an orange. Formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021, the quartet recently performed in Pauline Viardot's chamber opera Le dernier sorcier at the Buxton International Festival.
