About
Early music recital by Gawain Glenton and Silas Wollston exploring the virtuosic repertoire of Renaissance Venice.
Gawain Glenton, a cornett soloist and director who performs with groups such as Jordi Savall's ensembles and The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble, joins continuo player and choral director Silas Wollston for a recital titled The Myth of Venice. The programme explores music associated with St Mark's Cathedral from Adrian Willaert's arrival in 1527 onwards, when Venice became a centre of music publishing and artistic competition. The pair have recorded this repertoire together on their recital CD of the same name.
