About
A guided heritage walk around Milford village exploring its Strutt family mills, waterpower remains, housing and quarries.
Led by Jane Whitaker of the Belper Historical Society, this walk takes in the main industrial sites of Milford, a village developed by the Strutt family of Belper for mill, bleaching works and foundry workers. The route covers the remains of the waterpower used by the mills, surviving workers' housing, pubs and quarries, with stories of families who lived there. The walk is on the flat, partly along the A6, and lasts about an hour and a half; the group meets at Milford Triangle opposite the Strutt Arms.
