Shovel Dance Collective Plus Support

The Shovel Dance Collective performs a concert featuring traditional music interwoven with group improvisation and experimental sound manipulation.

The nine members of Shovel Dance Collective explore traditional music through a patchwork of fragments, improvisations, and field recordings. Their arrangements emphasize the hopeful and human qualities of folk music. The performance explores how traditional music carries the voices of the oppressed and those who create the world's wealth.
