About

Sophy Higgins examines how social class shaped women’s access to British aviation and their influence on its development between the wars.

The lecture considers private flying, access to social and militarised organisations, and the influence of senior wives through case studies. The in-person session is in the RAF Museum Midlands Lecture Theatre; it is also livestreamed. In-person attendance is free and registration is required.
