Discover The Secret World Of Beavers At Heligan

A guided dusk walk with Heligan's Wildlife Coordinator Toby Davies to discover the beaver wetland and the wildlife it supports.

Led by Heligan's Wildlife Coordinator Toby Davies, this guided evening begins with an introduction at The Lodge before a walk through orchard and woodland to the beaver wetland at dusk. Participants learn how beavers fell trees, build dams and lodges, and create wetland habitats that support a rich diversity of other wildlife, with chances to spot species such as woodpeckers and voles along the way. The tour covers steep, potentially muddy ground with no pathways, is for ages 16 and over, and dogs are not permitted. Beavers are mostly active at dawn and dusk, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
