About
A guided walk around Cirencester with Ian Thomas exploring the town's medieval wool trade history.
Ian Thomas leads a walking tour of Cirencester bringing the medieval wool town to life through the lives of wool combers, card makers, dyers, weavers and wool staplers. The walk covers the Abbey's role in trading wool and the growth of the wool church of St John the Baptist, visiting sites connected to the town's wool history. The walk lasts just over an hour; participants should wear comfortable shoes and bring a rain coat, meeting at the museum.
