The Environmental Cost of our Clothes: Rescuing the Planet by Renting our Clothes
About
A free open lecture at Oxford Brookes University by Dr Rebecca Beech on fast fashion's environmental toll and how clothing rental and repair can build a sustainable wardrobe.
Dr Rebecca Beech, Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Oxford Brookes Business School, examines the environmental toll of the 'take-make-waste' fast fashion habit, tracing the product life cycle from manufacturing to the failures of global textile disposal. In this open lecture she shares her UN PRME-funded research into the barriers of clothing rental and explores how embracing a circular economy through repair and rental can help audiences build a sustainable wardrobe. The talk runs for one hour and is free to attend.
