Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
About
The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra performs Butterworth, Bridge and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony at The Anvil, with Jesper Svedberg as cello soloist and Mark Wigglesworth conducting.
Mark Wigglesworth conducts the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Butterworth's A Shropshire Lad, Frank Bridge's Oration, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. Jesper Svedberg is the cello soloist in Bridge's elegiac concerto, written after the First World War. Butterworth's rhapsody evokes English folk song and the countryside, while the Tchaikovsky closes the concert with a finale of power and orchestral colour. A free pre-concert talk is offered earlier the same evening.
