From That Land, Taqi Spateen

An exhibition of paintings by Palestinian artist Taqi Spateen exploring land, belonging and resilience, open Thursdays to Saturdays.

SVA hosts 'From That Land', an exhibition by Palestinian artist and activist Taqi Spateen, whose realist landscape paintings draw on the Palestinian countryside and the olive tree as a central symbol. His recent works also address mass urbanisation and colonial settlements on his homeland. Spateen was an artist in residence for Site Festival 2024 with the Bethlehem Cultural Festival, creating graffiti pieces in Gloucester, and is known for murals including The Boy with the Goldfish Bowl and portraits of George Floyd.
