Martha Argerich plays Ravel

Martha Argerich joins the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra at the Sheldonian Theatre for Saint-Saëns, Ravel's Piano Concerto in G and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.

The programme pairs Saint-Saëns's Carnival of the Animals, narrated by Annie Dutoit-Argerich, with Ravel's jazz-infused Piano Concerto in G major, played by Martha Argerich, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. Marios Papadopoulos conducts and also appears at the piano in the Saint-Saëns. The concert lasts around two hours.
