About
A hands-on indoor garden explores medicinal plants, folklore and botanical medicine through Thackray collections and family activities.
This family gallery combines oversized plants, tactile exploration and a magical apothecary table with objects from the museum’s collections, including a hand-coloured copy of Elizabeth Blackwell’s 250-year-old A Curious Herbal. The exhibition shares stories of plant medicine, folklore and women’s contributions to science; it was created with the Royal Horticultural Society, co-produced with five young curators and created by artist Helen Brook.
