About
Akosua Paries-Osei and Rianna Raymond Williams examine how colonial ideas shaped reproductive health and how Black women reclaim care narratives.
Historian Akosua Paries-Osei discusses how Western ideas about sex were racialised and recast as African traditions in the colonies. Researcher and creative practitioner Rianna Raymond Williams then presents her work on the Unboxing initiative and Black women’s sexual and reproductive healthcare. The session runs 10:30–13:00; the page advertises limited free student tickets and 20% off when three or more Insights events are bought together.
