From the Floorboards - Georgia Shackleton with Aaren Bennett

Georgia Shackleton and Aaren Bennett perform From the Floorboards, a new album inspired by Shackleton's polar voyage and the sea, at the Tall Ship Glenlee.

Marking 125 years since Sir Ernest Shackleton's first polar voyage on the Discovery, violinist and songwriter Georgia Shackleton presents her new album From the Floorboards, performed with guitarist Aaren Bennett. The music was composed on the Shackleton Violin, an instrument made by luthier Steve Burnett from the floorboards of Shackleton's former Edinburgh home, and recorded aboard the RSS Discovery in Dundee. The live show weaves Shackleton's own songwriting with songs penned by Shackleton and his crewmates aboard the relief vessel Morning, exploring icy seas, marine life and environmental themes. It forms part of the Celtic Connections 2027 programme.
