About
Fionnlagh Mac A' Phiocair performs his debut suite 'Never Broken in a Sea' for the Grimsay Boats on Scottish smallpipe at Celtic Connections.
Part of Celtic Connections, this New Voices concert presents 'Never Broken in a Sea', a debut original suite written for the Grimsay Boats, the handcrafted vessels made for navigating the sands and tides of the Outer Hebrides. Smallpipe pioneer Fionnlagh Mac A' Phiocair creates expansive soundscapes rooted in Gàidhlig song, drawing on the boats, people and landscape of his native Hebridean culture. He is joined by Pàdruig Morrison, Charlie Grey, Claire Frances MacNeil and further special guests in an intimate, immersive performance.
