Seamus Egan & Maeve Gilchrist: Into the Ice

Seamus Egan and Maeve Gilchrist perform Into the Ice, a Celtic Connections show inspired by Shackleton's Antarctic expedition.

Part of Celtic Connections 2027, this immersive collaboration between Irish musician Seamus Egan and harper and composer Maeve Gilchrist draws on the story of Ernest Shackleton's 1914 Trans-Antarctic Expedition. The pair blend traditional Celtic music with electronic sound design, spoken word and poetry to explore themes of endurance, camaraderie and exploration. The show is recommended for ages 14 and over.
