Mendelssohn’s ‘Reformation’

The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra performs Ortiz's Clara, Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 4 and Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture and 'Reformation' Symphony in Manchester.

The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nil Venditti, performs Gabriela Ortiz's Clara, a twenty-minute orchestral rhapsody reflecting on Clara and Robert Schumann's relationship. Ben Goldscheider is the horn soloist in Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 4, and the programme closes with two works by Mendelssohn: the Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave) and the Symphony No. 5, 'Reformation'. The concert is part of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra 2026/27 Season.
