THE ASTONISHING MASTER MOZART COMES TO LONDON

Graham Griffiths tells the story of the young Mozart’s London visit, with live keyboard illustrations of early pieces and a guide to hearing his musical style.

The presentation covers the Mozart family’s 1764–65 stay in London, the eight-year-old composer’s encounters with George III and the Royal Society, and his first symphony. Griffiths plans to illustrate the music at a piano if available, otherwise on a supplied electric keyboard, and finish with a Polonaise by Franz Xaver Mozart.
