About
Roger Butler introduces the history and character of Britain’s inland waterways, from aqueducts and painted narrowboats to canal engineering and heritage sites.
The lecture surveys the artistic, architectural and engineering character of the UK’s 2,000-mile inland waterway network, including aqueducts, historic narrowboats, canal painting and listed buildings. The society says lectures are tailored to include local and regional examples.
