November Stargazing at Abriachan Forest

An evening of stargazing and astronomy at the Abriachan Forest dark sky site, with outdoor sky viewing or an indoor planetarium and talk.

Highland Astronomy and Abriachan Forest Trust host an evening of stargazing at Abriachan Forest, a designated Dark Sky Discovery site, led by mathematician and astronomer Stephen Mackintosh. If skies are clear, visitors head outdoors to explore stars and celestial objects, with the possibility of telescopic views of Saturn; if cloudy, the session moves indoors for a planetarium experience and astronomy talk. The Abriachan team also provides astronomy-themed STEM activities for younger and older visitors. The event lasts 90 minutes and places are limited by the capacity of the forest classroom and outdoor facilities.
