Cafe Concert: What's In A Name?

A 45-minute café concert by Trio Paradis exploring the theme of names in music, with tea, coffee and cakes served.

Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan on piano, Ruth O'Shea on violin and Linda Stocks on cello) perform a 45-minute concert of mostly classical music, introduced by the performers. 'What's in a Name?' explores names from two angles: musical portraits of individuals who inspired pieces — Sylvia, Margaret, Susan, Jennifer and Mr Belloc — and composers with amusing or unfortunate names, including works by Gelinek and Schytte. St Michael's Cafe is open before and during the concert serving tea, coffee and cakes, and admission is pay-what-you-feel via a retiring collection.
