Trio Paradis: What’s in a Name?

Trio Paradis give a themed 45-minute café concert of mainly classical music exploring the theme of names, with a pop-up café beforehand.

Trio Paradis — Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Ruth O’Shea (violin) and Linda Stocks (cello) — present a themed 45-minute concert of mainly classical music, introduced by the performers. ‘What’s in a Name?’ explores names from two angles: musical portraits of individuals such as Sylvia, Margaret, Susan, Jennifer and Mr Belloc, and works by composers with amusing or unfortunate names, including Gelinek and Schytte. A pop-up café opens from 12.45pm with tea, coffee and home-made cakes, and the concerts are pay-what-you-feel via a retiring collection.
