Behind the Magic
About
A behind-the-scenes display in the Stewards' Room revealing how Harewood's Magic at the Mansion Christmas installation was created.
Housed in the Stewards' Room below stairs, this display explores the planning and creativity behind Harewood's 2026 Christmas, which began more than a year in advance. It shows how Studio McGuire's Beauty and the Beast-inspired installations — talking furniture, pillows and presents — came together, alongside a bespoke script by Yorkshire writer Christina Lewis drawing on Harewood's collections, interiors and residents, with research by Curator and Archivist Rebecca Burton. Access is included with a valid day ticket and free for Members, available during House opening throughout the run.
