Hannah Fisher: 300 Years of Niel Gow and Sally Simpson
About
A Celtic Connections concert at City Halls in which fiddler Hannah Fisher celebrates the 300th anniversary of Niel Gow's birth, with Sally Simpson previewing her debut solo album.
Acclaimed Scottish fiddler Hannah Fisher marks three centuries since the birth of Perthshire musician Niel Gow, bringing a fresh perspective to treasured Scottish fiddle repertoire rooted in the landscape and traditions that shaped Gow's music. The bill also features Edinburgh-born fiddler Sally Simpson, who steps out alone to preview material from her debut solo album Retreat, inspired by Scottish and Scandinavian fiddle traditions. The concert forms part of the Celtic Connections festival.
