About
A four-screen underwater film installation by Shelby Prichard, shown as a 20-minute loop in the BLOC Gallery.
To See You, I Must Listen (2026) is a four-screen film work by filmmaker and researcher Shelby Prichard, presented as a 20-minute loop in the BLOC Gallery. The work submerges viewers in the sensory conditions of the ocean, using haptic, opaque underwater imagery and an immersive soundscape built from underwater field recordings. The sound design was created in collaboration with sound artist Tom Fisher / Action Pyramid, and the piece explores the limits of human perception while inviting attentiveness to more-than-human, watery ways of being.
