Irish writer Doireann Ní Ghríofa appears at Blackwell's Bookshop to present Said the Dead, a novel blending history and ghost story, drawn from archival research into a 19th-century Cork asylum being converted into apartments. The book follows a woman drawn by mysterious signs into the lives of the women who once knew the hospital. She will be in conversation with Daisy Johnson, author of Everything Under, which was shortlisted for the 2018 Man Booker Prize. The event lasts one hour.
