Meeting the Herb - Echinacea
About
A hands-on herbalism workshop with local herbalist Rosy exploring echinacea through sensory learning, traditional uses and remedy-making.
Local herbalist Rosy leads a session on echinacea, part of a series meeting one seasonal herb at a time. Participants use their senses and intuition to get to know the plant, learn about its traditional and modern uses, and taste and make a herbal remedy — this month a brew of echinacea — while discussing other preparations and how it may support health and wellbeing. Weather permitting, the group may take a short walk to find the plant growing nearby. The 2.5-hour workshop suits ages 12 and over, with under-16s accompanied by an adult; the room is stair-access only.
