Roman Remedy Making
About
A hands-on family activity at the Roman Baths where children blend their own herbal remedy while learning about Roman medicine and healing traditions.
Running in the Panorama Room at The Roman Baths, this family activity invites visitors to get hands-on with Roman medicine. Using real herbs, participants blend their own remedy based on traditional medicinal uses of plants, discovering which ingredients Romans believed could cure ailments and how some are still used today. The dry activity involves mixing herbs into small containers, and participants take their herbal mixture home. It is ideal for families with children aged 5–12, with younger siblings welcome, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
