Silk Painting Workshop

Artist Laura Hollis leads a beginner-friendly silk painting workshop at Hever Castle where participants create three pieces including a suncatcher and mindfulness card.

Kent artist Laura Hollis runs this hands-on silk painting session for up to 12 participants, with a minimum age of 13. Attendees first practise on pre-stretched silk, learning to use Gutta outliner and how colours flow across the fabric, before creating a 7-inch suncatcher using provided patterns or their own ideas. They also paint a ready-printed mindfulness card, taking home three unique pieces. No experience is needed and all materials are provided, though the paints stain so old clothing is advised; tickets include garden-only admission afterwards.
