Richmond Architecture Walking Tour
About
A 2.5-hour Open City guided walk exploring Richmond's architecture and urban history, from Marble Hill House to Richmond Hill.
Open City's guided walking tour traces Richmond's development from Georgian riverside retreat to working suburb, covering housing typologies from Victorian townhouses to mid-century houses. Highlights include the Grade I-listed Marble Hill House, the 1980s Richmond Riverside development and the 1930s Art Deco Poppy Factory, with commentary on how transport links shaped the area. The 3.2km route, led by Shuang Karen Hu, ends at the protected viewing point on Richmond Hill. The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and goes ahead rain or shine.
