Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training – Level 3
About
A mandatory Level 3 safeguarding training day for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Named Professionals working in early years settings.
This accredited Level 3 course, run by the Herefordshire Early Years Improvement Team with the Herefordshire Safeguarding Partnership, is aimed at practitioners new to the DSL role or attending face-to-face training for the first time. It covers multi-agency safeguarding procedures in Herefordshire, leadership responsibilities, learning from case reviews and a refresher on types and signs of abuse, all placed in local context and aligned with EYFS statutory requirements. The seven-hour session includes EYFS-specific scenarios, a gap task and a certificate on completion. Participants are expected to already hold basic safeguarding knowledge, ideally from a Level 2 course.
