About
Drop-in lantern-making workshops at Ampleforth Abbey where children craft a paper lantern to take home ahead of the abbey's December Lantern Procession.
Ampleforth Abbey hosts special lantern-making workshops over the weekend of 28–29 November 2026, running 10am to 5pm as a drop-in session with no booking required. All materials and instructions are provided so children can create their own paper lantern to take home, in preparation for the abbey's Lantern Procession on Sunday 6 December. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, and tickets cost £3.50 per child to cover materials.
