The Lyons Mouth

Vocal consort The Lyons Mouth performs 'Winged Voices', a Manchester Midday Music lunchtime programme of choral works on the theme of wings.

The Lyons Mouth, a young professional vocal consort founded in 2022 at the University of York under Robert Hollingworth, gives a lunchtime concert in the Manchester Midday Music series. Their programme 'Winged Voices' explores the wing from different angles — birds, angels and spirits, protection and escape — through works including Cornysh's Ah Robin, Arcadelt's Il bianco e dolce cigno, Gibbons' The Silver Swan, Leighton's God's Grandeur, Janequin's Le chant des oiseaux and Britten's Cuckoo. The concert runs from 1.00pm to 1.50pm.
