Spiritato: Handel and the New Society

Baroque ensemble Spiritato performs overtures, rare gems and Sammartini's Christmas Concerto in tribute to the Royal Society of Musicians.

Spiritato return to the York Early Music Festival with a programme marking the founding in 1738 of the Fund for Decay'd Musicians, today the Royal Society of Musicians, the UK's oldest musical charity. The concert features glorious overtures, rarely heard jewels and Giuseppe Sammartini's richly scored Christmas Concerto, honouring the charitable vision of the musicians who created the society. The performance runs from 6.30pm to approximately 8.30pm with reserved seating.
